Did Brian Weiss hear about our 'raaz pichle janam ka?'

Though, this was a few months past, TV trivia, nevertheless, I could not resist myself from writing about it. A friend's influence seems to have worked out its bit. She was into writing about hypnotic regression, and had spend quite a number of hours looking for the book, Many lives, Many Masters"- by Brian Weiss. Even I ended up reading the book- through the long draw, research and search, discussion and counter discussion process.
The Book
 It seemed to convince the readers about the therapeutic consequences of hypnotic regression. Some of it did sound out of the world to me. But when a TV reality show tried to draw public attention to hypnotic regression, I thought of giving it a real hard look.

NDTV imagine had come up with a new reality show called Raaz Pichle Janam Ka. The aim of this show was to unlock the secrets of the participant’s past life. The show was hosted by famous Bhojpuri film starr, Ravi Kishan, while the past life regression sessions were conducted by Mumbai-based psychologist Dr Trupti Jain. Celebrities like Shekhar Suman, Monica Bedi, Celina Jaitley and Nauman Sait had participated in the show. At the same time, to make things look more close to earth, the common people were alllowed to participate once they got selected through phone-in.

In the show, Dr. Tripti Jain would take the participant into in a state of progressive relaxation, followed by an alpha-theta meditation through the visualisation of light and then taken back into the past fears to know the reason for things that trouble them in this birth. Sounds controversially interesting! Many experts have ever since the onset of the show, are vehemently claiming that NDTV imagine is spreading superstition through this show.
